OLD BUSINESS:
- Hearland Day - April 26th Gymkhana. Dress up as a character from the show during the Gymkhana.
-Estimated cost of Youth Club Trip to Morris Stampede = $300 each. This includes gas, VIP tickets, food, beverages, etc. The web link to check out the stampede is www.manitobastampede.ca. Please confirm with Sarah that you are interested and have permission to go, and if any parents would like to volunteer as a chaperone. So far Helene has volunteered to chaperone, way to go!
-Mother's Day Tea - Sun. May 11th, 1:30-4:30pm @ Castlegreen Community Centre. Tickets are on sale now! $5/person, Children 4 and under are free. Heather has volunteered to help organize the penny auction donations, and Stevie has offered to hlep with the Bake Off Contest. Thanks girls!

-DOWS will be hosting a Breather Day with The Norwestern Breather on April 16th, 6-8pm @ Steepers (122 N. May St.) There will be a draw for a ONE NIGHT CABIN RENTAL at DOWS Riding Stable! (including bonfire, smores goody basket, and a light breakfast). Refreshments will be served. We will be promoting the Mother's Day Tea, etc. There will be an article featuring DOWS Riding Stable in the March 24th issue! Don't miss it! www.thebreather.ca , they can also be found on facebook, and copies of the newsletter can be found at businesses around town. The Norwestern Breather is a newsletter for wmen, by women, celebrating women!
-Stevie typed a pledge form which can be used for the competition to be held at the Father's Day Event. Details will be announced later.
-Stevie's dad would like to help the Youth Club by volunteering to organize and host some youth dances. She will get her dad to foward some information to Sarah.

Dows Youth Horse Club was created in 2005 (formerly Hay Stack Stables Youth Horse Club). We hold monthly events during the warm months and monthly meetings and horse school year round. I created the club for students that did not yet have the confidence to compete in big shows and gymkhana and/or for those that needed practice and even those that did not want to compete and they just wanted to have some fun. During our Gymkhanas and Horse Shows students are encouraged to finish the patterns, they get help in the ring if needed with no disqualifications, they also encourage eachother on and have a great time.
Our events include Gymkhanas (games on horse back) and new in 2008 Horse Shows. Gymkhanas are very entertaining to watch and horse shows are very suspenceful waiting for the verdict on placings.
Horse School and the Meetings were also created in 2008. I saw an increasing demand/interest from the students for knowledge, and decided to create the school for those who want to know everything about horses. Each Horse School in 45 minutes and always a fun learning experience.
So to all those girls that signed up and parents that get involved with the club, thank you! Your help is greatly appreciated.
